If someone practices good manners, she/he is showing those around that someone is considerate of their feelings and respectful. Someone is also setting standards for others behavior and encouraging them to treat her/him with similar respect.
Every culture and individuals may have different rules or feelings about what is polite or is not polite. The goal of this course is to review some of the more basic and common rules of polite behavior in our society.
These rules may differ from person to person or based on situation, but there is one rule of good manners (and life, in general ) that is always easy to follow-do unto as you would have them do unto you.
If you are in the habit of using good manners all the time, you won’t have to worry about whether or not you’re doing or saying the right thing. It will come natural to you, and others will respect you more for it.
